Our New Years Eve started off with the annual Americans VS Chiefs hockey game. It has been a tradition for 20 some years that these two rivalries play each other New Years Eve!

Here is our mascot Winger. He usually comes and bumps fists with the kids, they love it!
During the 3rd period of every game they play "Cotton Eye Joe" and the fans take off their shirts and swing them around. Brogan is usually too shy but tonight he did it too. Note: the guy in the background- Enough said!
This was at the closing buzzer, can you tell we won!
When the Americans score 5 goals in one home game everyone at the arena gets a free Bandit Burger compliments of Burger Ranch. We have come to eat a lot of Burgers this season!
YEA! WE WON!!
This is celebrating at Shari's afterward eating pie and ice cream.
We lucked out and one of the American players came in to eat also. The kids got their picture with defenseman Riley Macintosh! They were so excited.
The next day, New Years Day, we went ice skating. It was fun Brogan went the entire way around all by himself by the end. Vylett was doing really good until she fell and hurt her tail bone. Ooops, Ouch!
After skating we had our Bandit Burgers compliments of the stinky Spokane Chiefs! Yea!
Okay, Brogan actually got chicken O's but the rest of us ate a free burger.
After lunch we went to the house, this is Vylett hiding in her closet. I just thought this was a cute picture of her so I added it.
Later that day Clint and Brogan played kitchen hockey. Brogan got another hockey stick from Nan and Papa so now we can play one-on-one. He could get one past him once in a while.
That evening Brogan wanted to build a snowman, so we went out and built the best one we could with what little snow we had.
That night when he went to bed he asked me if his snowman would still be there in the morning. I of course said it would be... that night we had a 47 degree temperature and rain. OH NO! We woke the next morning to a little boy crying because his snowman had melted away. Boy, is Mom a liar or what?
Well, we are off to a wonderful start on the new year and enjoying our kids so much. I hope we have many more days of making memories like these.

hockey buffs, i have bever been to a hockey game, you guys look like you are having a great time, maybe we will have to go sometime, your kids are adorable, i love the kitchen hockey!
