Oh Savannah, How I love thee

Clint and I had the opportunity to go to Savannah, GA last week with some of the Land View crew as members of IAP. We had the best time...

We got to cook with Chef Darrin Sehnert at 700 Kitchen
The kitchen was in the basement where it used to be an old funeral parlor.  The hotel was next to this and was built over a graveyard.

Savannah River, Clint even got up and left me one day at lunch to watch a huge ship full of containers make it's way past our restaurant

Tybee Island, just off the coast of Savannah.  Laid back good ol' boy kind of island.

They drove us around the city telling us all of Savannah's most haunting ghost stories.  It was so fun.  Creepy and romantic all in one.

The only Cemetery in the Savannah Historic district that has not been built over.

Back to Paula Dean's for dessert, key lime pie & pecan... YUM!

Telfair Museum:  The architecture in this building had rounded corners on the back sides.  The people in the 1800's were very suspicious of evil spirits and the thought was they would come in hit the corner and fly back out.  They also painted their cceilings blue to keep evil spirits away.  They believed the spirits wouldn't cross water.  They also put dolphin head replicas at the end of their rain gutters to keep out the spirits.

If you look close you can see a hazy circle by the front entry.  If you zoom in their is a ghostly looking face peering out.  Ooooh Creepy!  This was the Thomas Owens house built by William Jay.  I think we were soul-mates in another life, the inside was amazing.  Unfortunately, they wouldn't let you take pictures inside.

The last day we drove to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.  Really beautiful, when we got there dolphins were jumping up out of the water just off the shore.  It was great.  This is where Clint's Grandma & Grandpa Young served 2 missions.


A huge thanks to my awesome parents who took such good care of Vy & Bo so we could enjoy our time away.  I feel so blessed to have them close.  Vy & Bo had a great time,  it was neat for them to have an entire week to bond!
